Road Pirates Xmas Party 12 15 2007   by

The day's merriment started with the gathering of biker friends at a mass celebrated and officiated by Father Jigg Orcino, on vacation from his Mindoro highlands missionary in the Philippines to be with his family here in the states, followed by his blessing of our motorcycles idly sitting on the ranch home's oversized driveway.

Wow!  This California Ranch home situated on a one acre well manicured landscape was the location of the Road Pirates' Christmas Party and the home of Geo's family. The front of the estate is bordered with a Danbury Concave vinyl fence, and a Chesterfield with Victorian Accent privacy vinyl fence surrounds the backyard.

Among the many amenities is a basketball / tennis court, children's playground, tree house, spa and an Olympic size heated swimming pool.  Adjacent to the pool is a gazebo and a trail of perfectly carved large Italian stepping stones leading to the back of the estates huge covered patio, a perfect spot for the club size Karaoke components where the Pirates and Juancheros battled it out.  Across the street is an award winning Jack Nicklaus 18 hole golf course.

There were group singing of Christmas favorites which resembled a choir at a Sunday mass, but what fascinated us most was the solo performance of Angelo singing "Blue Chirstmas" where he demonstrated his crispy but gentle voice picking up the highs and lows with surgical precisions.  A standing ovation ensued.  The party has begun.

Jimmy, Jojo, Julius and Chito were the idols of the evening.  Singing Pilipino favorites and Rhythm & Blues with their stunning jaw dropping vocals.  Next up was Sonny, cranking it up to the next level singing "Pretty Woman" with his unorthodox style of dancing. Also Neil,Gudy and Noli, after a few glasses of wine singing oldies but goodies and todays current hits.....  Damn!  This is the mother of all Xmas parties.

The delectable buffet consisted of a variety of Pilipino/American cuisines.  Carne Asada, Palabok, barbecue fish, salads, Pilipino sweets, freshly baked assortments of pies, and many other mouthwatering favorites.  Oysters were served cooked to order for those who lack their intake of zinc, one of the minerals required for the production of testosterone which seemed to be the favorite of all.

As the day progressed and the sun began to set, the chill in the air came upon us.  Torches were lit as we gathered around in a pow wow formation on a modern bonfire pit.  We talked about how fast the year has flown by and the missed brothers who have moved on.  There was talk of other clubs who suffer from a superiority complex because of the bikes we ride.  However, our camaraderie lives on.........

The beating of the drum rolled on.  It's time for the main event of the evening.  Jimmy and Bing have taken over the stage for the drawing of the raffle tickets.  There were MP3's, a leather vest, a huge maltese patch, a bottle of Black Label scotch, and several novelty skull helmets. These gifts were all complimentary by the Road Pirates. Geo's Mom also prepared gift bags for all the guests.  You are a great host!  We sincerely appreciate your kindness and generosity.  Thank you!  God Bless.

This was a day to remember. It was time to say our farewells.  Everyone had a great time.  We thank you for your warm hospitality.  In closing, as we headed out, you could hear the Road Pirates singing "What a Wonderful World."  And that it is, as we head towards a New Year.....

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL
